About Kent Ayyildiz

It was over ten years ago when I first felt the winds of the ensuing digital revolution and the seeds of MoonStar Films were sprouted. I was working on my Masters in Turkish History in Istanbul and while looking out over the Bosphorus, I realized the power of the digital revolution in its capacity to teach visually in new ways and formats. So, I completed my Masters and set about achieving my Masters in Fine Arts in Film and Video production at Columbia College of Chicago.

Throughout my graduate school days I worked within the industry and in education. Perhaps most inspiring were my days working at the Center for New Television with Dr. Denise Zaccardi and Judy Hoffman, whose mentorship further instilled my desire to create MoonStar Films. Now, after years of training, experience, and sweat, MoonStar Films has arrived.

Patrick Cribben of 64 Magazine, writes ....

"... Ayyildiz began to see film as a viable means for scrutinizing those corners of human experience that now moivated his adult mind -- history, culture, and social relationships."
